It takes a furparent to know that, when you love a pet more than life itself, even a little sneeze can come across as a medical emergency and send you into panic mode. In the case of cute little Apollo, a Blue French Bulldog – with almost 650K followers on TikTok and 36.2k on Instagram – was rushed to the vet in what was presumably a very panicked frenzy.

Apparently, Apollo’s ‘mom found a lump on his belly, which she thought was cancerous. Well, the good news is: it’s NOT cancer. It’s just his nipple. Yes, all dogs have nipples — be it male or female. The bad news is, that’s $200 up in smoke!

A TikTok user commented:
“It’s always better to be safe than sorry, though…”
Another user, a dog named Maverick, shared his health-scare that turned out to be a false alarm, too.
“My mom did that today too ?turns out to just be an old man lump…”

According to Forever Pets website, dogs can develop lumps but worry not — some of them are pretty harmless, such as lipomas (fatty benign tumours) and cysts, that come about when a dog’s oil glands are blocked. But in order to spot cancerous lumps, the owner needs to identify the texture and feel of the said lump.
“Compared to the soft, fatty characteristics of a lipoma, a cancerous lump will be harder and firm to the touch, appearing as a hard immovable lump on your dog. A lump on a dog’s neck or face may also prompt foul-smelling discharge from the mouth, nose or eyes, and this smell can be another indicator that the tumour is cancerous,” said the website.
May all our pets live a long, healthy life full of treats and endless, endless love!
