Wooo, Malaysia boleh!

If there’s one thing Malaysia is good at, we all know – without a doubt – it’s making the best food. There’s nothing quite like Malaysian food. Whether it’s banana leaf, nasi kandar or kuey teow, everyone enjoys a good Malaysian made dish.

And it seems like ‘Mortal Kombat’ star Chin Han agrees with the statement. He said in an interview recently that his favourite Malaysian dish is… Penang laksa!

“I like the sauces and how spicy it is, and that kind of tangy (flavour). There’s nothing quite like it, you know. So, that’s the first thing that comes to mind.”

Ng Chin Han, or just Chin Han professionally, established his career in Singapore theatre as an actor as well as producer and director from the middle of the 1990s to the early 2000s.

He stars in ‘Mortal Kombat’, a movie about MMA fighter Cole Young who seeks out Earth’s greatest champions in order to stand against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. If his name still doesn’t ring a bell, Chin Han also starred in Christoper Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ back in 2018, as Lau, the accountant who fleas to Hong Kong before testifying against the mob. The Mortal Kombat star from Singapore also spoke about other issues, including how Hollywood welcomes so many Asian faces.

“Asia is such an interesting place, right? Asia is not just one thing, there are so many different countries and so many different cultures. You have Asia and South Asia. You have South-East Asia, where you and I come from. So, we have many different points of reference.”

It’s amazing how great you can see yourself if you look at it from a different perspective. Props to Chin Han for showing us that! We’re glad Chin Han enjoys and appreciate Malaysian food as much as we do. Now, to check out the ‘Mortal Kombat’ movie.
