His heartbreaking caption reads,

“Rest In Paradise Princess ???
I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven ❤️?

His wife Safiyya has also taken to the social media platform to post a photo of herself holding the infant in her arms and kissing her little face.

“You are my Angel my heartbeat my soul, RIP my precious baby, you will always be with me like a handprint on my heart,” she wrote as her caption.

The news of Azaylia’s diagnosis with a “very rare and aggressive form” of leukaemia (a type of cancer of the blood) was announced last October when Azaylia was just 2 months old. Azaylia had to then undergo treatment in the hospital over the next few months.

On April 8, Ashley said that Azaylia’s condition had gotten progressively worse, with the cancer spreading to her brain, stomach, spleen, lungs and kidneys. The doctors told the family they thought “she’s only got one, two days to live.” Ashley and Safiyya made the decision to bring Azaylia home for several days to spend some quality time with her before she passed.

“Today was the first time in the 8 months of Fatherhood that I’ve had the chance to walk down the street with my baby in my arms. No hospital, no isolation, no pram with a protective cover… Just me, and my baby, doing what a daddy and daughter should be able to do,” he captioned the photo.

Our hearts go out to the family in this difficult time.
