Taylor Swift Debunked Speculations Surrounding Her Fan Theorized ”Woodvale” Third Album

Background

Swifties, we have some sad news. Looks like you have to wait a bit longer before Taylor releases anything new. 🙁

In case you somehow missed it, Taylor released two, yes two, separate albums in 2020, and some Swiftie sleuths believed a third was possibly coming. Unfortunately, Taylor says it’s false news. As fans recently discovered, a photo featured in the deluxe CD edition of Taylor’s first 2020 album, folklore, contained a hidden word—“Woodvale.” Based off Taylor’s frequent adoration for hiding clues in her work, some believed the word hinted at a third album title, and that folklore and evermore were part of a trilogy.

Jimmy Kimmel decided to get to the bottom of this major musical mystery on Monday, December 14, asking Taylor if she had created a trilogy. “This takes a bit of explanation,” Taylor replied. She admitted that she has a habit of being “secret agent-y” with her clues, but this latest instance was more of a slip up.

According to Taylor, “woodvale” was a mock title she used for folklore. As she explained it, she was initially fearful of telling her team the album name, and had used the alternate title. Placing the pretend title on mock album covers, Taylor and her team later forgot to remove the word. Awwwww, but it’s okay, she blessed us with TWO albums, so it’s a no biggie.
