Brave words.
As we all are aware, the issue regarding artists and elites, often referred to as ‘kayangan‘, not complying with SOPs is often seen on social media especially during Hari Raya. Many netizens have expressed their dissatisfaction with the actions of celebrities and criticized them for allegedly traveling interstate for celebrating Raya with their families.
Due to the issue that is still considered a hot topic on social media, director Michael Ang has voiced out his thoughts about it.

The director released a statement through his Instagram:
“Accept the fact Malaysians, no need to swear and insult those who get to go back for Raya or get to Raya on IG.
Accept the reality that you all don’t have the fibre optic cable, your cables are all still copper! But seriously, it’s not just artists or elites that can travel interstate. Many of the average rakyat do the same as well!”
Initially, Michael slammed the actions of certain irresponsible individuals who selfishly go and celebrate Raya as the action clearly breaches the SOPs that have been set by the government.

However, Michael disagreed if netizens pointed fingers solely at celebrities and the elites as to him, there were also average Malaysians that did not obey the SOPs, it’s just that they weren’t caught on camera.
According to the comments, many were in support of his statement and overall supported him.
This user said: For me, the average rakyat that travels interstate doesn’t get criticized because they’re not famous. Do they have a mirror or not. Their luck I guess. Those who are famous travel interstate get criticized not just because they do so, but also because they’re famous. So the conclusion is if you want to be famous accept compliments and criticism. Don’t complain or anything. Don’t do wrong or don’t become famous.
What do y’all think?
