Don’t be selfish.
It’s a time when staying safe means staying at home. With the COVID-19 virus in our community and beyond our control, the best way to protect yourself is to stay in your house.

Unfortunately, this was difficult to do for some during the Raya holidays. Local singer Yuna expressed her devastation towards those who do not obey SOPs by quoting a tweet from a user that shared a story about an elderly woman who contracted the virus.
This is so heartbreaking. Ppl were just crossing states for raya and had no idea what they have done to others who did follow the SOP. Praying for this makcik and her husband’s recovery. The kids who didn’t see them for Raya to protect them must be devastated!! https://t.co/8i4NpZWUwm

The story, as shared by Twitter user @que_haidar tells the tale of an elderly woman who is positive with the virus, but doesn’t have the heart to inform anyone.

According to the post, her grandchildren were not allowed to come back for Raya. They understood the order and stayed home. So how did she still get the virus? Her husband’s, friend’s grandchild came back for Raya from Kuala Lumpur (with ‘clean cable’) and gave them the virus. The post expresses the creator’s frustration:
“Enough of being selfish! Cases are at thousands now. Bye.”
Yuna’s fans responded to this story, devastated as well.
This is why i ask my family not to go out beraya. I beg them to stay at home. Mcm mane hati kita tak risau. Tapi they all… ???

This user said: So sad because this aunty did not allow her own grandchildren to come back because she was scared, but she eventually got it anyway from other irresponsible people.

Let’s take this unfortunate event as a lesson. Don’t be selfish. Your actions could be costly for the lives of others, if not yourself. Stopping the virus is a community effort.
