Elizabeth Olsen’s New Project Is ‘Bloody’ Terrifying

today4 May 2021

Innocent-faced Elizabeth Olsen looks nothing like a murderer, but she definitely has the acting chops for it. This time, she will be flexing them with an axe — literally.

If you’re a huuuuge fan of Miss Olsen (like I am) you’ll notice that she has the tendency of taking on gritty, distressed roles like the bereaved widow Leigh Shaw in ‘Sorry For Your Loss’, the traumatised superhero Wanda Maximoff in Marvel films, and the troubled young woman who got lured into a cult in her debut film ‘Martha Marcy May Marlene’.

In ‘Love and Death’ written by David E. Kelley, she will be playing Candy Montgomery with Leslie Linka Glatter acting as director and Hollywood A-lister Nicole Kidman as executive producer. The show is inspired by the book ‘Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs’, as well as a collection of articles from Texas Monthly.

“This is a gripping story about the frustrations and desires of two women in a small town that culminates in a terrible act of violence. We are thrilled to be partnering with David, Lesli, Nicole, and Per and incredibly fortunate to have Elizabeth at the centre of our story to bring out all the layers of Candy that make this story so unforgettable,” said HBO Max’s Sarah Aubrey.

Kevin Beggs, Chairman of Lionsgate Television, added that,

“We cannot imagine a more perfect artist to play the leading role of Candy than Elizabeth Olsen. Her talent, charisma and energy can bewitch audiences like no other.”

It’s also worth mentioning that Olsen won’t be the only person playing Candy Montgomery. Universal Content Productions has also announced its own Candy Montgomery series called ‘Candy’ and was picked up by Hulu last December. The titular character will be portrayed by Elisabeth Moss of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’.

If you’re hooked by the premise of suspense and tragedy, then you should check out both shows!
