Calling all Victoria’s Secrets fans, it is time to dust off your wings one final time because a docuseries about the famous lingerie empire is set to pull back the red curtains and strut down memory lane.
The Rise And Fall Of Victoria’s Secret, directed by Matt Tyrnauer, will go behind the scenes of the sexy brand using ‘’first-hand accounts and deep investigative research to reveal the inner workings of the brand and the cultural institution,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

According to Deadline, the series is also set to trace Victoria’s Secret’s journey from a mail-order undergarment company to a retail giant that later became entangled in controversy. Recently, the company has come under fire following a New York Times investigation that uncovered its history of misogyny and toxic workplace behaviour.
And as everyone fully aware, behind the embellished, vanilla-scented facade, the brand was far from beautiful. The perpetuation of dangerous body shaming, blatant racism and harassment behind the scenes are just some reasons why the company has been in serious hot water for quite some time.

While the world—and other influential fashion brands—continued to champion body positivity, diversity and inclusion, Victoria’s Secret were criticised for its extremely limited sizing, casting mostly thin, white models.
Since controversy arose, the company cancelled its famous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2019 and announced plans to “evolve”, nothing has since come from said ‘plans’. The Rise And Fall Of Victoria’s Secret is already in production and a release is slated for early 2022.
