The Spanish heist crime drama series is finally drawing to a close after filming wraps up on its 5th and final part. Fans are forced to say goodbye to beloved characters such as the headstrong Tokyo, hot-headed Denver, enigmatic Berlin, and more.

But the goodbyes prove to be just as difficult for the actors as well.

A post shared by Álvaro Morte (@alvaromorte)

Morte, who plays the genius mastermind Sergio Marquine, aka The Professor, shared a video of himself via Instagram leaving the set for the last time. He wrote in his caption,

“Words are unnecessary. Thankful for so much, for everything. To the fans (the first ones, of course), to the entire team of @vancouvermediaproducciones and @netflixes @netflix And to you, my dear Professor. I will miss having such a good time with you. THANK YOU”

His post was met with plenty of celebrity reactions including his ‘Money Heist’ co-stars Itziar Ituño who played Lisbon. She left two emojis, “❤️?” in response to Morte’s heartfelt post.

Esther Acebo, who portrayed Stockholm, commented,

“Profezzzzzzzzzor ❤️”

Netflix Spain also responded by commenting,

“If we are about to cry with this video, we cannot imagine what we’d do in the end (of Money Heist).”

Morte’s character The Professor is the driving force of the series, where he plays the brains behind the hijacking of The Royal Mint of Spain. To do this, he recruits a motley crew of criminals and experts who all end up bonding together as a family despite multiple deaths and betrayals.

We leave you with this haunting rendition of an Italian folk song that is played throughout the series. This version is covered by our own Najwa Nimri, who plays the relentless, and frankly, terrifying Alicia Sierra.

Bella ciao!
