Amidst the horrors of what is going on in our world right now, ‘Sweet Tooth’ will provide a sweet escape from our reality yet still keep us grounded and reminded of the true danger: society.
Before being moved to Netflix, it was initially announced that streaming service Hulu had given a pilot order to a potential television series adaptation of DC’s comic book with movie star Robert Downey Jr and his wife, Susan Downey, as some of its executive producers.
Me and the missus are excited to share a new trailer for our show @SweetToothNetflix. A post-apocalyptic fairytale based on the beloved DC comic. Arriving June 4th on Netflix! #SweetTooth https://t.co/bXd6nSGPOz

The driving plot behind the series is “the greed” of bad people, which causes nature to retaliate by making everyone sick. In its wake, a devastating virus known as “The Great Crumble” is unleashed. It wreaked havoc on the world by causing a miracle — a rise of hybrid humans, babies that are born part animal and part human.
The inability to understand and accept this sparks fear in society — as always, humans fear what they can’t comprehend — and thus begins the hunt for these hybrids.

A young hybrid by the name of Gus is seen wandering in the woods with antlers on his head. Played by Christian Convery (you might have caught a glimpse of him in ‘Venom’), the boy ventures out of his sanctuary with lone wanderer Jepperd. Together, the pair sets on a journey across the remains of America in search of answers.
