Selena Gomez’s ‘Dollhouse’ Lands A Director

today20 June 2021

Looks like Selena Gomez is having a ‘thrilling’ year!

Just recently, the 28-year-old signed on to star in a psychological thriller for Picturestart called Spiral, and now, her horror-thriller project Dollhouse has found a director in Emma Tammi!

As per media outlet Deadline, Emma Tammi will be directing the upcoming movie, a project which Selena Gomez is producing through her July Moon label and is eyeing to headline. The screenplay, on the other hand, will be written by Michael Paisley and will be in the spirit of Black Swan (directed by Darren Aronofsky).

The premise is set in the world of the upper echelon of New York City’s fashion scene — so like, maybe, Gossip Girl with a little extra madness on the side?

Tammi previously directed IFC Midnight’s horror-thriller The Wind, which is her feature film directorial debut. The movie unfolds the story of a woman and her husband who move into a new area, living in solitude together before sinister events begin invading their lives.

Tammi has also directed all ten episodes of the audio podcast The Left Right Game starring Tessa Thompson, which was acquired in a competitive situation and is in development at Amazon. She is repped by ICM Partners, Grandview and Jackoway Tyerman.

“Emma (Tammi) is one of the brightest up-and-coming directors in the genre,” said Adam Fogelson, chairman, STXfilms Motion Picture Group. “She has an incredible sense of story, pacing, and timing that is equally matched by her eye for unforgettable visuals. We love her take on this material and we’re thrilled to be developing it with her.”

Buckle up, everyone!
