Alright everyone, gird your loins! As a huuuge, Devil Wears Prada fan, I can’t help but memorize every single line and scene from that iconic movie. But, even though it’s been over a decade since this legendary movie hit the big screen.. What if one (newly unearthed) scene changed everything we’ve known Miranda to be? That’s exactly what has happened and the internet is freaking out.

Yup, there was one particular scene involving the infamous Meryl Streep’s ice queen character, Miranda Priestly aka editor-in-chief of Runway Magazine. The deleted scene has been making the rounds on social media and everyone is confused AF because it sees Miranda showing a hint of humility and actually being pleasant towards her assistant, Andy (played by Anne Hathaway). Er, yeah, really. We’re surprised, too.

The unused clip is from the famous black tie gala event in the movie but rather than ending on its original bad note, it shows Andy preventing her boss’s husband from causing a major scene and embarrassing her in front of Irv Ravitz, the CEO of the media company which owns Runway. In return, Miranda drops her frosty persona for a split second and mouths the words “thank you” to Andy.
For us The Devil Wears Prada fans, the scene is a total curveball and adds a whole new layer to Miranda’s personality. The Miranda we know and love simply does not have the words “thank you” in her vocabulary. And she’s certainly not made vulnerable by her drunk husband. So are we glad they kept the scene out? As a fan, yes. Yes we’re so glad.
