Your Favourite Marvel Superheroes Want You To Check Out This Car!

today17 June 2021

This proves just how influential the Marvel estate is!

Although WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have concluded their series (for now, at least) on Disney+, one titular character from each series respectively have appeared in brand new commercials for a prominent car brand! Loki, currently releasing new episodes every Wednesday on the streaming platform, also had his taste of the vehicle in a cheeky commercial.Β

For Anthony Mackie (whose superhero name used to be Falcon before he took over for Steve Rogers as Captain America), he is featured in his full new get-up as he chases a bad guy before knocking him out with his shield, yelling,Β

β€œHeads up!” Catching his shield, he teases, β€œWhy do we say, β€˜heads up’ when we really mean, β€˜duck’?” before flying away, leaving behind confused and puzzled civilians.

Elizabeth Olsen, on the other hand, who plays the powerful and magical Wanda (codenamed Scarlet Witch), is seen transported back to the ’50s era in Westview.Β

β€œWhy is it the Golden Era of television if it’s all in black-and-white?” she questions, holding a miniaturised version of the vehicle in her palm, painted bright red and contrasting with the rest of the surroundings.

With just the flick of her finger, the vehicle is transformed to its original size — and colour begins exploding everywhere, too!

And last but not least, let’s not forget our God of Mischief, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston. He seems to have his fair share of fun as he makes his getaway with the stolen Tesseract in tow, before asking,Β

β€œIf you’re living on borrowed time, do you have to return it?”

With that, he drives off, staying true to his character’s antics.

This isn’t the first time that a prominent car brand attaches itself to Marvel for promotional purposes. In 2016, a luxury car brand released a high-speed chase scene from Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War in which their product appears, while also inserting some of their own footage to make it a slightly comedic TV spot for the brand.Β

The scene features Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers as Captain America before his retirement as he chases after Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier and the newly introduced T’Challa/Black Panther, played by Sebastian Stan and the late Chadwick Boseman respectively.Β
