Popular internet figure Khairul Amin (@khairulaming) is known for his cooking videos, simple ones made with the aim of teaching his followers how to cook. The entrepreneur also owns a sambal business called Sambal Nyet, using an online selling platform to get the goods to his followers.

His business boomed quick, with every release selling out fast, before some eager fans could even order. The cycle continued for some time before eventually the issue of scammers or ‘resellers’ was brought up. Amongst them, was one that was selling fake versions of his sambal, with some netizens coming forward to say that they’d received spoiled and inedible sambal. Khairul found out about this and realized he had to release a statement to ensure that the image of his brand wouldn’t be damaged, which he did on his Instagram.
“Some customers have complained about seeing bubbles in my sambal, but I noticed that something was not right with the packaging and appearance of the sambal they bought,”

Surprisingly, the reseller turned herself in. This was updated via Khairul’s Twitter.

The entrepreneur explained in the thread that he was glad she made things easy for both sides but did not want to call it a truce just because of some crocodile tears. So he said he had three demands from the reseller.
1. bayar pampasan tunai. tapi duit ni aku takkan refund balik kepada buyers sbb proses refund ni tak mudah and aku nak buyers utk take accountability jgk. oleh itu 100% duit ni aku akan sedekah kat asnaf yg memerlukan di bulan puasa ni. aku tak akan ambil satu sen pun

The first demand was to hand over the damages, but the money won’t be returned to the buyers due to the complicated process. He also wants the buyers to take accountability so 100% of the money will be donated to the needy during the fasting month. “I won’t take even a cent of the profits”, he clarified.

The second demand as could be seen in the tweet was a public apology, admitting her mistake for forging the contents of the sambal and bottle design of the sambal nyet.

Last but not least, a statement of admitting her mistake at the police station.

Netizens applauded Khairul’s professionalism and work ethic in handling the issue. This user said: “I really like when he said he won’t refund the buyer’s money because he wants them to take accountability.”
