Everyone who has a pet will consider their furry friends as part of the family. While they are just part of our lives, we are their whole life. So it’s no surprise that we’ll form a loving bond with them.
Hence, it’s normal to feel devastated when you see incidents such as this one, as shared on Twitter by @qielatt.

“My cat dug its kitten’s grave back. The kitten is already dead. How did it dig it back?”
Messaging his brother, he explains that their mother wanted to bury the kitten but the cat chased to stop her from doing so. He then shared a photo showing the aftermath of the cat’s digging.
The thread continues, with him sharing a video of their cat checking the area of where the kitten was buried.

“My mother and brother took the kitten for burial and then it went to find the body at the grave.”
He then shared another video explaining that his cat actually has other kittens, it’s just that maybe it feels like one or two are missing, which explains why it was searching the house. He also stated that this was the second time it was pregnant, with the first time, unfortunately, resulting in 5 deaths.
Following this unfortunate incident, netizens advised him on what to do to ensure no other further incidents would occur.
“Watch over the mother too. A cat in my area was suspected of committing suicide because there was a witness who said it purposely sat in the middle of the road watch for a car to hit it. No attempt to move. Had to be admitted. A few days before that it’s kitten died being hit by a car.”

Another netizen kindly shared advice given to her by a vet. She stated that if the cat lost its kitten, owners have to always communicate with it and calm it down. It’s important to be with them and give attention like a human being, because it too can be depressed.”
Guys, ni knowledge yg aku dpt masa pergi vet. Dr tu sendiri ckp, kalau kucing kita ada family dia yg mati, kita kene selalu borak dgn dia tenangkan dia. Belaii. Bagi perhatian mcm dgn orang. Sbb dia dorang juga kemurungan mcm kita time hilang seseorang. Be with them.

Take care of your pets as one of your family members. They too have feelings and can be shaken by incidents such as this. As a community, we must ensure the safety and well-being of all living creatures.
