On Tuesday, police detained 10 male students at a vocational college in Wangsa Maju on suspicion of injuring a fellow schoolmate.
According to Wangsa Maju District Police Chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, the arrest of the students aged 16 to 20 years was done in response to a police report submitted by a woman about the matter yesterday.
He stated that the complainant, who is the victim’s mother, was informed by the hostel warden that her son was ill and had been taken to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.
“The victim (male) reported being thrashed by his fellow college seniors at the dormitory Surau.
“As a result of being beaten, the victim sustained rib and waist injuries, as well as pain throughout his body,” he said in a statement.
