Barre Workouts You Can Try Even If You’ve Never Owned A Pair Of Ballet Slippers

today2 May 2021

Background

Believe it or not, to excel at barre workouts you don’t need to be experienced in ballet!

Not unlike Pilates or sculpting workout, what a barre workout entails is really cardio training, strength training and stretching, instead of perfect dance technique. It focuses on low-impact and high-intensity movements that are designed to strengthen your body in ways that not many other workouts can.

Here are some barre workouts you can try from the comfort of your own home:

1. Pure Barre Workout with Amy’s Beach Fitness

This is a short workout that won’t take too much time out of your busy day! All you need is a chair, and you’re good to go! Instructor Amy will help you through the workout without a portable barre at home (or any barre experience, for that matter).

2. Barre Cardio Fusion Full Body Workout with Lindsey Bomgren

This 30-minute cardio barre workout leans towards the high-intensity spectrum, but you can still give it a go if you like! Just be careful to take it slow before building up your endurance. The cardio and its large, dynamic moves are perfect for those who are looking for something more athletic. Equipment is purely optional, and you get to choose the fitness level that suits you best!

3. Barre Fitness at Home Workout

Here’s a super quick and classic one!

This workout engages your core and lower body by incorporating pliés, pulses, and tucks. Tiny isometric movements are incorporated to hit your inner thighs, outer thighs, glutes, calves and core! It’s pretty amazing to be able to cover so many of your muscles in so little time — just 10 minutes!

Well, the weekend is here so go put on your workout clothes and get cracking!
